CONDUCTED AND RADIATED EMISSIONS OF LED LAMPS AND INTELLIGENT LIGHTING SYSTEMS

Abstract
In case of RF outdoor lighting control the EMC question become more important, because there we have two different devices with different EMC requirements which have to work together. For EMC characterization, we have to follow the next steps. The first step is to determine which standard requirements have to be fulfilled by the intelligent lighting system besides the EN55015 and EN61547 lighting standard. The next step is how to do the tests, which kind of measurement system can be used. If we are doing radiated emission, do we use an anechoic chamber or an open area test site. The third steps are how to decrease the noise emission under the limits if these does not passed, the tests.
The LED lamp and the controller separately pass the test requirements, but together there failed the test. For reducing of noise emission under the limits a proper filter could be used. If the frequency of the noise is over 20MHz a ferrite coil could be used. For 30-300MHz frequency band the radiated emission noise could be measured with two measurement systems: the CDN and the antenna method
