Simulation method for determining the SAIDI and SAIFI indicators

Abstract
One of the commonly recognized targets of Smart Grid aspect is reliability of electricity supply. Nowadays new approaches are required for evaluating the reliability of electricity distribution as well as planning the reliability of supply new grid. This paper presents methodology developed to calculate in these networks the most commonly used reliability indices which are the SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) and SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index). This methodology has been applied on a real distribution network.
