Wind Load of Overhead Electrical Lines Exceeding AC 1 kV

The article deals with the influence of wind on wires and poles of overhead power lines. Wind causes additional load; thereby, it increases the mechanical stress in the wires. The calculation of wind force on wires depends on its velocity, span size, direction, and various factors affecting it. Wind may be also exerting flagpoles; therefore, they must be dimensioned to the total force converted to the top of the mast.
