Power transformers belong to the most used devices in the electrical transmission and distribution system, in the economically most appropriate voltages. Their proper selection and operation can greatly contribute to the economy of the entire power system. The increase of transmitted power and increase the voltage levels makes construction of transformers more complex and more expensive.To solve the problem of economy of transformers has a major significance the method of pricing of the losses electric energy, which in transformers occur during their operation. In this case, it is possible, to use the equation for annual production costs and for unit costs. At the same, it is necessary to know the power losses, specific power losses of and power efficiency. All of these issues create extremely complex tissue of relation to achieving the proper selection and operation of the transformer in the power industry. In the final result it is the need for a new comprehensive approach to the transformers as well as the economy of the whole power system.
